This White and Red Moiré Apron with Gold Fringe is the official regalia of a Master Mason in Craft Freemasonry under the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite (AASR) tradition. Richly symbolic and visually distinguished, it marks the culmination of the symbolic lodge degrees (Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft, and Master Mason) and reflects the deep moral and spiritual lessons of the 3rd Degree—death, rebirth, and immortality.

Often used in European and Latin American AASR Craft lodges, this apron emphasizes the solemn dignity and honor conferred upon a Master Mason, combining elements of both operatic symbolism and philosophical depth.

🔷 Apron Design & Materials:

Base Material:
Constructed from pure white lambskin or high-grade synthetic leather, the apron’s white field symbolizes purity, truth, and the aspirant’s spiritual foundation.

Bordering:
Edged with deep red moiré ribbon, giving the apron a ceremonial and refined appearance. The red moiré, with its wavy silk-like pattern, symbolizes zeal, sacrifice, and spiritual fervor.

Fringe:
Lined along the bottom and/or sides with an elegant gold fringe, representing honor, light, and the divine wisdom achieved through completion of the Master Mason degree.

Flap (Bib):
The triangular flap is also bordered with red moiré and may be left plain or feature symbolic embroidery such as:

A skull and crossbones, representing mortality and the transitory nature of life

The letter “G”, symbolizing Geometry and God

The all-seeing eye, square and compasses, or sprig of acacia, depending on jurisdictional tradition

Fastening:
Secured with adjustable white waist ties or a belt, lined for structure and comfort.
