Apron – Scottish Master of St. Andrew (Square)

Design & Materials:

Base: White lambskin or high-grade white leather/fabric, representing purity and the sanctity of one’s Masonic journey.

Shape: Square-bottomed, as distinct from the rounded apron of earlier degrees, indicating a transition from purely Craft Masonry to a higher chivalric role.

Border: Richly bordered in green, symbolizing regeneration, hope, and spiritual rebirth—the color traditionally associated with the Rectified Rite.

Flap (Bib): Triangular, edged in green, often bearing an embroidered or painted emblem—commonly a green cross pattée, cross potent, or templar cross, referencing the Christian heritage and knightly path of the degree.

Center Emblem: The lower field may feature a gold or green St. Andrew’s Cross, or a flaming sword, depending on jurisdictional tradition, alluding to truth and righteous judgment.

Ties: Matching white fabric ties for secure wear around the waist.

Symbolism:
The apron’s square form signifies maturity, responsibility, and readiness to serve in a sacred cause. The green cross and trim reflect the inner transformation and spiritual commitment expected of a Scottish Master of St. Andrew. It marks a departure from operative symbolism to one rooted in knighthood, virtue, and Christian mysticism.

Collar – Scottish Master of St. Andrew

Design & Materials:

Shape: Wide V-shaped collar, worn over the shoulders with the point extending to the chest.

Color: Made from emerald green moiré ribbon, consistent with the color of the degree and the Rectified Rite’s symbolic palette.

Trim: May feature silver or gold edging, depending on rank or tradition.

Jewel: Suspended at the point of the collar is a metal jewel, typically a green enameled cross pattée, Templar cross, or a St. Andrew’s Cross—sometimes surrounded by rays or further Christian iconography.

Fastening: Adjustable hook or clasp at the back for secure and comfortable wear.

Symbolism:
The collar signifies the mantle of spiritual knighthood. The cross worn on the collar represents one's commitment to truth, virtue, and the imitation of Christ—central themes in the Rectified Rite. The green color echoes hope, faith, and the aspirant’s inner renewal.
