30th Degree Jewel – Black Double-Headed Eagle with Gold Crown & Sword (Scottish Constitution)
This 30th Degree Jewel is the official insignia of the Knight Kadosh, or Knight of the Black and White Eagle, under the Scottish Constitution. Worn proudly by recipients of this distinguished rank, the jewel represents the deep spiritual, moral, and chivalric lessons of the 30th Degree within the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.
Design & Features
Double-Headed Eagle: The central feature of the jewel is the iconic black double-headed eagle, one of Freemasonry’s most powerful symbols. With heads turned both East and West, it represents vigilance, wisdom, and sovereignty over both temporal and spiritual realms.
Gold Crown: Atop the eagle rests a gold crown, signifying authority, enlightenment, and the mastery of knowledge achieved at this degree. The crown also reinforces the knightly and chivalric nature of the 30th Degree.
Sword of Justice: A golden sword is positioned with the eagle, symbolising justice, duty, and the Knight Kadosh’s charge to defend truth and righteousness.
Craftsmanship
Materials: Finely cast and polished for durability, with a rich black enamel finish on the eagle and gilded highlights on the crown and sword.
Detailing: Sharp detailing ensures clarity of features, giving the jewel both visual impact and ceremonial presence.
Fitting: Supplied with a hand-stitched parrot clip fitting for secure attachment to a collarette.
Symbolism
The black double-headed eagle is among the most recognisable emblems of the Scottish Rite. In the 30th Degree, it embodies duality, balance, and the perpetual vigilance required of a Knight Kadosh. The crown and sword together reinforce the aspirational ideals of justice, courage, and moral sovereignty, reminding the wearer of their obligations to uphold the principles of the Craft.
Worn With
This jewel is traditionally worn with the 30th Degree black grosgrain collarette (sold separately).
It is also worn in conjunction with the 30th Degree embroidered sash, completing the full regalia of the Knight Kadosh.
Ideal For
Freemasons of the 30th Degree – Scottish Constitution.
Lodges wishing to provide authentic, high-quality insignia for members.
Collectors of Scottish Rite and high-degree Masonic regalia.
